Grandfather Iboga

Klappentext

I almost didn't write this book. It would have been easier to stay quiet. Easier not to enter a conversation as controversial and misunderstood as Iboga. Easier to protect my reputation and avoid the scrutiny that comes with speaking publicly about plant medicine. But silence felt dishonest. What if the roots of suffering are deeper than we've been taught? Is there hope for the hopeless? When life fractured in ways I could not intellectually solve, I was called beyond logic, beyond theology, beyond science - into direct encounter. Enter Grandfather Iboga. Often referred to as the "Mount Everest of plant medicines," this African root - sometimes called "The Truth Hunter" - has drawn global attention for its unique interaction with opioid receptors and its growing exploration in addiction recovery research. In this unfiltered account, I share how one of the most intense and misunderstood plant medicines on earth became a mirror - illuminating unresolved grief and unconscious survival patterns - while guiding me from darkness and sorrow into renewed courage, clarity, love, and hope. At a time when suicide rates remain high and opioid addiction devastates families worldwide, Iboga continues to generate discussion for its potential relevance in addiction, depression, PTSD, MS, autoimmune Parkinson's and complex neurological conditions. Part memoir, part clinical exploration, Grandfather Iboga is written by a naturopathic physician who became the patient. This book is for anyone navigating loss, addiction, trauma, or seeking deeper Truth where conventional paths have fallen short.
