Prof. Mònica Bulló (ORCID: 0000-0002-0218-7046) is an internationally recognized leader in nutrition, food and metabolic health, combining scientific excellence with strategic vision and a proven capacity to shape research agendas and public policy. As PI of multiple competitive national and international projects, including large multicenter studies, she has demonstrated the ability to design and lead ambitious multidisciplinary programmes with clear translational and societal impact. Her leadership trajectory is sustained and aligned with institutional and public policy priorities. She cöled the Human Nutrition Unit-Prevention and Epigenetics Group (URV IRB CatSud, 2012-2020) and held key roles within CIBERobn (2017-2022). Since 2021, she leads the Nutrition and Metabolic Health Group (URV IRB CatSud), recognized as a Group of Excellence by the Government of Catalonia, and since 2022 she directs TecnATox, consolidating high performing teams and research structures. Prof. Bulló has a distinguished record of influence on scientific and public health policy. Her appointments to the Executive Committee of the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO), the Scientific Committee of AESAN, and the Nutrition Committee of the Novo Nordisk Foundation place her at the center of evidence based policymaking. As CöChair of the EASO Nutrition Working Group, she contributes to shaping European research priorities and policy agendas. Her role on the Board of the International Carbohydrate Quality Consortium and her engagement in the Catalan agri food innovation ecosystem further reinforces her capacity to translate scientific evidence into regulatory, industrial and innovation frameworks.

Management of Diet and Lifestyle in Cancer Care provides an evidence-based overview of how nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and other lifestyle factors influence cancer prevention, treatment, recovery, and long-term survivorship. Integrating current advances in nutritional science, cancer biology, microbiome research, metabolism, and precision medicine, the book presents a multidisciplinary perspective on supportive cancer care that complements conventional medical treatment.
The book explores the biological mechanisms through which dietary patterns, bioactive food components, exercise, circadian health, psychological well-being, and environmental exposures affect cancer progression and patient outcomes. It also discusses practical nutritional strategies for individuals undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies, while addressing symptom management, quality of life, and rehabilitation. Each chapter combines scientific evidence with clinically relevant recommendations, supported by tables, figures, and recent research findings.
Designed for researchers, oncologists, nutritionists, dietitians, healthcare professionals, postgraduate students, and public health practitioners, this volume serves as both a reference and a teaching resource. It bridges fundamental concepts with emerging developments in personalized nutrition, gut microbiota, nutrigenomics, and digital health, providing readers with a comprehensive understanding of the role of diet and lifestyle in modern cancer care. By bringing together expertise from multiple disciplines, the book offers a practical and research-informed framework for integrating lifestyle-based approaches into comprehensive cancer management.
