This work investigated the effects of ceramic reinforcement particles (SiC, TiO2, TiB2, ZrO2, and Al2O3) added to Al6082 alloy and examined the impact of heat treatment on mechanical and tribological properties. The stir-casting technique effectively produced composites with uniform dispersion of reinforcement particles, resulting in enhanced hardness, tensile strength, and wear resistance. Heat treatments further refined the microstructure, dissolving intermetallic compounds and promoting grain refinement, thereby contributing to superior mechanical properties, including increased UTS and hardness, though elongation was reduced. In terms of impact energy, hybrid composites exhibited improved impact resistance compared to single-reinforced composites and matrix alloys, with fracture surfaces showing a combination of brittle and ductile fracture modes. The wear resistance of hybrid composites was consistently superior across varying temperatures, attributed to the homogeneous distribution of reinforcement particles.
