With the coming in of globalization, the amount of information available to students has significantly increased creating competition between private and public universities. This has created a new marketisation phenomena in the higher learning industry making it more important for public Universities to create a unique persona. Branding is now the corner stone of the marketing strategy while corporate identity is the best way to appeal to the prospective students and a survival strategy in the wake of prevailing challenges in the higher education industry in developing states. Branding has made it possible for departments and faculties to create their own niche targets and improve enrollments in their respective faculties.
