Over the past century, scientific advancements have been monumental, spanning from macro to femto scales. In India, speech and musical acoustics have been fostered since the 1920s, with theoretical and experimental tools evolving significantly. Methodologies for speech and music analysis have progressed from early spectral domain linear features to nonlinear stochastic analysis and, most recently, to neural network-based machine learning architectures for audio feature extraction.
