Klappentext

In a time when truth feels negotiable and conviction is often softened for comfort, the ancient words of Jude--a powerful and yet often overlooked letter in the Bible--rise with timely clarity, urging us to contend for the faith that Jesus entrusted to his followers of every generation. In Contend, Philip Anthony Mitchell invites readers into the tension many quietly carry-the desire to stand firm in faith while wrestling with doubt, weariness, shame, internal conflicts, the pressures of a shifting culture, and even dangerous voices that preach false gospels of compromise. Though the world mocks and opposes biblical truth, and inner personal battles threaten to extinguish the flame of faith, we can find the courage and strength through Christ to rise up and contend for the faith in the culture and in our own hearts. Mitchell, founder and lead pastor of 2819 Church in Atlanta, calls individual believers as well as the Church to step out of passivity and into purpose, reminding us that faith is not something to preserve quietly but to live out boldly-especially for a lost and dying world. Through Contend, readers will be inspired to:Rediscover the passion and purpose of their faith, leaving behind spiritual complacency and embracing a vibrant relationship with Christ. Confidently proclaim the truth to a culture that increasingly opposes Christian values, without compromising love or grace. Find strength to combat and overcome internal struggles of disbelief, fear, insecurities, shame, heaviness, and unforgiveness that wear down the heart and threaten to derail their spiritual journey. Disciple and prepare the next generation to stand strong when the world challenges or denigrates their faith. Seek a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, igniting a movement of repentance, renewal, and transformation in their life and within the church. For those who believe, Contend is a wake-up call. For those who question, this message is an open door. Above all, Philip Anthony Mitchell reminds us that truth and grace are not at odds-and that even in a world of confusion, there is a faith worth fighting for and a God who is still calling people back to Himself. But the window to respond will not remain open forever, and since the stakes are eternal, now is the hour to contend . . . because time is running out.
