Econometrics and Political Economy of Climate Change

In an era of pressing environmental challenges, the need for robust and policy-relevant economic models has never been greater. Bridging Modelling and Policy: An Integrated Approach to Environmental Economics brings together environmental policy, the political economy of the environment, and applied econometric modeling to deliver a comprehensive framework for researchers and policymakers alike.

This book critically examines how macroeconomic models are specified for policy assessment, outlining key assumptions, trade-offs, and methodological choices. By embedding these models within both theoretical and historical contexts, it provides a deeper understanding of the evolution of environmental policies and their systemic implications. Empirical evidence on key macroeconomic and environmental trends further enriches the conceptual analysis, offering a nuanced perspective on the interaction between economic dynamics and environmental governance.

With a focus on the interconnected nature of policy and statistical modeling, this volume goes beyond traditional economic and econometric realms, making it an essential resource for academics, practitioners, and decision-makers seeking to integrate economic modeling with sustainable policy design.

Offers a critical evaluation of macroeconomic modeling for policy assessment Explores policy-oriented macroeconometric specifications, highlighting key assumptions and trade-offs Investigates the interconnected nature of environmental policy and statistical modeling
