Individual chapters bring to light previously unpublished source material in Greek and English, both written and visual, from state and private archives. Maria Hadjiathanasiou is a Horizon 2020 (MSCA Widening) Research Fellow at the Department of Politics and Governance, University of Nicosia, Cyprus. She received her PhD in Modern History in 2017 from the University of Bristol, UK. Andreas Karyos is Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Nicosia and the Open University of Cyprus. His research interests focus on military and political aspects of Cyprus' colonial history, decolonisation and post-independence history.E Emilios A. Solomou is the President of the Cyprus Society of Historical Studies, Honorary Director of the UNESCO Chair and Emeritus Scholar, University of Nicosia, Cyprus. He is co-editor of several books and co-author of Historical Dictionary of Cyprus 2nd Edition (2021).
