The thesis studies the transformation of socialcontext and institutions during the last two to threedecades and identity construction in this newlyreorganized social reality. Global flow s influenceon locale will be shown via the example offundamentalism. A juxtaposition of modernity sfeatures to those of Christian fundamentalism s willshow the threatening character of globalizationtowards Christian fundamentalism by examples ofsecularization and a crisis in patriarchalism. Thus,the work tries to depict how the character of themodern world is reflexively organized via interplaybetween the global and the local.
