7 Rules of Self-Reliance

Now in paperback! Become more successful and achieve your goals through the seven rules of self-reliance as taught by Maha Abouelenein, a sought-after strategic communications consultant who has worked with Jim Kwik, Gary Vaynerchuk, Karen Wazen, and more.As the world moves at lightning speed and technology accelerates at full throttle, the importance of self-reliance is now-and it's the future. In addition to innovations in technology, the pandemic turned how we think about our jobs, careers, and lives on its head. Work-life balance has changed. We're empowered to take more ownership for ourselves today. In fact, we must take more ownership, or we will be left behind.7 Rules of Self-Reliance answers the question, "How will I survive and thrive with the inevitable, fast-paced changes that have created new ways of working and living?" How do you look at and benefit from the big picture? You stay low, keep moving (Rule #1).This rule is so important that it's the foundation for all of the others. Then how do you create authentic relationships at work-especially with the advent of flexible working-and at home and live with empathy? Become a value creator (Rule #2).Once you do that, how do you put yourself at the top of your priority list? You realize that no one is coming to save you or get you ready for your life-i.e., don't be a waiter (Rule # 3).After you create that value and those opportunities, how do you stay relevant, in the know, and sharpen your skills-especially with rapid innovations in digital technologies in life and business when you're competing against a global remote talent pool? You unlearn, relearn, and invest in yourself (Rule #4).This is key because no one else is going to train you, tell you which new skills you need to learn, or teach them to you. You need to do it yourself. Next, how do you position yourself in the eyes of the world? Again, this is key now that we are more remote, flexible, and in the midst of the Information Revolution. You think of your reputation as currency (Rule #5).Using all this insight, how do you cement and create real, enduring connections-personally and professionally-and have emotional intelligence in life? You become a long-term player (Rule # 6).Once you've mastered all those things, you can ask yourself, how can I live with the most joy and create a fulfilling life that I can learn from? You have no regrets (Rule #7).7 Rules of Self-Reliance will help you understand the importance of self-reliance and carve the path you know you are meant to pave. You will no longer wait for opportunities to happen to you; you will create them and do so in ways that are bigger and better than you knew were possible....
