In developing of this book the published and still unpublished results of our own and available in the literature results of other authors were used. The problems of solid-state diffusion and surface absorption have so far been dealt with a completely different theoretical model. Diffusion within the classical or quantum model, and absorption - only within the classical model. Here, for the first time in literature, both processes are treated uniformly within the quantum model.
