Kara Lynne Flanagan is an educator and postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Victoria. A cofounder of the Victoria Academy of Dramatic Arts, she also teaches at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Her research focuses on adapting curriculum and pedagogies in acting education to support performers in managing stress and stage fright and creating a captivating stage presence. She studied acting at John Strasberg Studios in New York and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

In Night Bat in the Park, a broke and unhoused actor, best known for his role as famous vigilante detective Night Bat, attempts to resuscitate his flailing career by playing Hamlet in Shakespeare in the Park. As he squares off with the melancholy Dane, he also faces his greatest enemy: his own fear.

In Death by Horoscope, Mr. Baby's comfortably arrested development is upended when a brush with death upsets the Fates, who shatter his relationship to the future by cancelling the horoscope he depends on. With his future suddenly clouded, Mr. Baby desperately seeks a way to move his life forward when he can't see the literal circus that's in the cards.
