A guidebook to 37 day walks and 3 multi-day treks in the Julian Alps of Slovenia. Exploring the incredible Slovenian mountains there's something for everyone, from short valley walks to high-level routes for the experienced mountaineer.

The day walks range from 4 to 24km (215 miles) and can be enjoyed in 211 hours. The multi-day treks range from 1834km (1121 miles) and each takes 2 days. The routes are split into 5 sections, each based around centres with a good tourist infrastructure.

Justi Carey and Roy Clark started visiting the British mountains in their teens, a discovery which has shaped their whole lives. Their passion and love for the outdoors has since led to travels across the world - taking in Iceland, North America, Jordan and New Zealand - and a deep commitment to the environment, while their continuing interest in being 'out there' has resulted in an enthusiasm for downhill and cross-country skiing, canoeing, cycle touring, horse riding and even rollerblading! Since moving to Slovenia in 2002, Justi has worked as an English teacher, while Roy has developed his skills in, and passion for, landscape photography. As soon as he was old enough, he started travelling independently and hasn't stopped since. His love of nature, adventure and the unknown has taken him to the trails of almost every continent and to the lecture halls of anthropology universities to study different cultures. His heart, however, has always been anchored to his homeland, the Slovenian mountains and the green forests that surround them. It is from this love that this new edition of the guide was born. To give shape to his passions, Roberto, together with his wife Martina, runs the outdoor travel agency MaroWays, which for years has accompanied hikers and travellers to discover the wonders of Trieste, Slovenia and the Balkans.
