Autorentext

John Kelly was born in St Helens, Lancashire. He served as a reservist in the Parachute Regiment of the British Army and worked most of his life in engineering and product management. A keen historian, he can often be found exploring the sites of classical European civilizations. He lives half way up a mountain near Bala in North Wales with his wife, Dinah.

Zusammenfassung
Working for the Union is a study of the relationship between full-time union officials and shop stewards across the whole of British industry in the period 1986-91. In the wake of recession and union decline, Britain has been said to be entering 'a new era of industrial relations'. This book provides a unique body of evidence that casts serious doubt on the validity of this claim.
