Song of Songs

Autorentext

JEANNE GUYON is Christianity's best-known and most influential woman in church history. Her autobiography has moved the hearts of believers for three centuries. Even today, in France, she is one of the greatest figures of French history. Guyon's influence reached the court of Louis XIV. Jealousy ensued, and she was imprisoned in the infamous Bastille. For most of her life she suffered persecution at the hands of the church, because she believed all Christians could have a rich prayer life. Perhaps John Wesley summed it up best: "Guyon is the greatest Christian to rise since the first century."

Klappentext

Jeanne Guyon was a woman who understood the cost of the words: "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." The influence Jeanne Guyon has never wavered with the passing of centuries. Three hundred years later she is still one of the most influential people in the lives of those who seek a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. In reading this book you will notice that Jeanne Guyon presents a more inward, Christ-centered perspective than is usually found in our present-day concept of Christian commentaries. Here is her commentary on the book Song of Songs as seen from the principles and dynamics of the deeper Christian life.
