Selected for 2026 Doody's Core Titles in Immunology

Immunology is highly valued by medical students and medical science students everywhere for demystifying a complex and rapidly developing area of medicine.

The book integrates basic and clinical immunology, providing up-to-date information that links the laboratory with clinical practice. It covers all the core immunology concepts that students need for their coursework, including immunity, immune responses, defence against infectious agents, and hypersensitivity.

The book's structure makes it easy to understand, presenting immunology in the order that aligns with typical teaching methods. Ideal for USMLE and MLA preparation, it comes complete with accompanying online animations, cases studies, and self-assessment.

• Carefully structured layout - easy to follow and identify high yield information
• Explains the building blocks of the immune system - cells, organs and major receptor molecules - as well as initiation and actions of the immune response, especially in a clinical context
• More learning opportunities online, including USMLE-style questions and clinical cases - ideal for exam revision and practice
• Animations offer a visual overview of immunological concepts
• An enhanced eBook version is included with purchase. The eBook allows you to access all the text, figures and references, with the ability to search, customise your content, make notes and highlights, and have content read aloud
