This book provides a practical tool to indicate ecotourism sustainability at local and national scale. A new approach (MAVN) has been proposed based on maximum number of visitors that can be allowed per year to visit an ecotourism providing forest. This approach is applicable to both production and protection forests. If adopted, the approach can play a complementary role towards sustainable forest management. The approach can also be useful to curb GHG s emission (mitigation) and to limit visitors to a sustainable level (adaptation).

Mr. Alam is a lecturer at University of Guyana, Guyana. He attained two Master of Science degrees from Bangor University, UK(Agroforestry) and Dresden University of Technology, Germany (Tropical Forestry) under EU funded Erasmus Mundus SUTROFOR program. He is engaged in multi-disciplinary researches in sustainable forest management.
