Gene Frederick was the top team leader for Keller Williams in recruiting for four out of eleven years. As team leader, he grew the office from 320 agents to 641 in four years as regional director of Keller Williams Virginia. He was number one nationally in franchise sales for 2007 and 2008.

In April 2015, Gene joined eXp Realty when it had just 400 agents. Helping to lead recruiting efforts, he became the number one revenue and share earner, with the company growing by the end of 2023 to more than 90,000 agents in twenty-four countries. He served on the eXp board of directors for seven years.
