Half Agony, Half Hope

From the New York Times bestselling and Stonewall Honor winning author of Most Ardently comes another gorgeously written retelling of an Austen favorite.

Eight years ago, Reginald "Reg" Elliot was not yet out as a trans man, so the world saw him as a woman...including his betrothed, Captain Frederick Wentworth. But Reg knew he couldn't survive a lifetime as someone's wife, so he ended the engagement, breaking both their hearts.

Now, newly out, Reg is defining his place in the world and discovering a frank acceptance from friends and family he never expected. But all his hard-won peace is threatened when chance brings Captain Wentworth back into his life--only now Reg is a stranger to him.

Long years may have passed, yet some passions never fully die. As the two men tentatively strike up a friendship and feelings once buried begin to stir, Reg must decide whether to reveal that he is the same person who once broke his first and only love's heart...knowing full well the truth will change the course of their relationship, and lives, forever.
