More than a century after its publication, Geraldine Edith Mitton's Cornwall remains an important contribution to the literature of the county. Combining travel writing, local history, folklore, and keen observation, Mitton captures the county at a moment when traditional ways of life still endured, but were being challenged. Her writing offers a valuable historical source and an engaging example of Edwardian travel writing, but above all, it captures a moment when Cornwall stood between an older world and the modern age-a county whose distinctive landscapes, traditions, and historical consciousness continues to inspire writers, scholars, and travellers alike. This new edition brings Mitton's classic travel narrative to today's readers, accompanied by notes and a fresh design.
