The author has lectured basic and advanced physics to physicists, mathematicians, chemists, and natural scientists for over thirty years. In addition to 400 scientific publications he has written the two well-known German books "Repetitorium der Physik" (also in Russian) and "Laser" (with M.W. Sigrist).

Very comprehensive and practical special textbook.

The book explains even the most complicated cases clearly, is didactically good, and covers the full spectrum of oscillations and waves.

The author is a professor at the ETH in Zürich.
