Klappentext

Symbiotic Business is a pioneering book that opens a world of opportunities to leave behind old world, dead-end (literally) thinking and destructive practice. The approach is to build an understanding of new business models bottom-up in response to fresh scientific insights into the world and our everyday lived experience.

The climate crisis, pollution, resource depletion, species extinctions and other environmental impacts are changing how businesses work and thrive. Almost all industries threaten the environment, either directly or indirectly. For companies thinking about how their business impacts the environment, they need to find solutions to a wide range of problems that typically lie outside traditional business techniques, knowledge and experience. This book aims to draw attention, explain and promote ongoing, worldwide business sustainability innovations and the value changes and institutions that support them. Symbiotic Business provides analyses and solutions for business leaders and managers seeking to become sustainable based on the latest knowledge of how we, our businesses and the natural world interact. A radical feature of the book's approach is life-based, ecological, not economic; after all, human welfare is, and always has been, inseparable from nature.

This book will appeal to business leaders in food, clothing, construction and energy sectors. Symbiotic Businesses encapsulate the new cultures, values, attitudes, rewards and practices that are emerging in response to the needs of sustainability and climate change.
