Do mothers and fathers differ in their judgments about parental authority expectations, or evaluate autonomy issues differently for preschool-age boys and girls? By focusing on these questions, the current study seeks to deepen our under standing of how parents think about children s autonomy, boundaries of parental authority and their meaning for child development and parent-child relationships.
