Informatics for the Clinical Laboratory

This book will be a comprehensive text about all aspects of laboratory informatics, including coverage of the hardware and technical processes involved. It will emphasize information and resource management, rather than the computers that support the information system. It details the demand for a higher level of management precision in light of a shift from the information generation. The book is intended for laboratory pathologists and residents, clinical laboratory scientists, and laboratory and information managers.

Written specifically for pathologists, this book will serve as a practical guide through the complex but increasingly pervasive topic of medical informatics for an audience whose chief interest may not be in this field Presents information and resource management techniques that are specifically tailored to the needs of clinical pathologists, laboratory scientists, and laboratory technicians In the rapidly changing field of medical informatics, the key to efficient information management is successful implementation and proper usage of information systems. Informatics for the Clinical Laboratory is the pathologist's tool for successful utilization of today's newest IT advances Both builds a foundation of informatics knowledge and delves into pathology-specific facets of the field; from computer basics to artificial intelligence and telepathology, the book will be a resource for pathologists at any level of familiarity with medical informatics and information systems Includes supplementary material: sn.pub/extras
