Yang Shengmin is the Director of the Academic Committee in Center for the study of Chinese Ethnic Minorities, Minzu University of China (MUC), Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences, Ministry of Education, and Professor of the College of Ethnology and Sociology in MUC. He is also the Member of the Social Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Convener of the Department of Ethnology, Sociology, and Political Science of the Social Science Committee, and Vice President of the Chinese Society of Humanities.

Professor Yang Shengmin is mainly engaged in the study of ethnology and national history. His research interests are mainly the history and culture of the northwestern, northern and central Asian ethnic groups in China. He is included in the list of scholars of the Central Asian Studies of the World Scholars List edited by Harvard University. He has published 2 monographs, co-authored and edited more than 10 books and nearly 100 papers.

Ding Hong is the Director of the Center for the Study of Chinese Ethnic Minorities and Professor of the College of Ethnology and Sociology in Minzu University of China (MUC). She mainly studies Muslim culture, and her representative works include "Donggan Culture Research," "Islam and China's Muslim Society Modernization Process," "A Comprehensive Review of the Five Countries' National Cultures in Central Asia," "Russian Influence on the Development of Central Asian Ethnic Groups," "Chinese Hui Nationality" (in Russian) and "Arctic Ethnological Investigation Notes."
