The New Regulation The new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is fundamentally changing product safety law for all economic operators, providers of online marketplaces and legal advisors. Not only does the regulation introduce new rules for the safety of non-harmonised consumer products, it also affects harmonised products. The Practitioner's guide Schucht/Wiebe's guide provides security in dealing with the new regulations and positions the EU General Product Safety Regulation within the framework of product safety legislation. It not only discusses the legal questions and implications arising from individual regulations, it also offers practical answers and tips for dealing with new challenges. Key Points • Scope and objectives • Requirements of non-harmonised consumer products • Obligations of economic operators and providers of online marketplaces • Special requirements and obligations for distance selling New reporting obligations for accidents and non-conformities • New requirements for consumer warnings and recalls • Consumer protection laws as a new result of a recall • Enforcement and sanctions • Effects on other product-related legal areas. Essential Information The Schucht/Wiebe Practitioner's guide offers certainty in dealing with the new regulations. The relevant requirements and obligations can be checked and trained at the earliest possible stage using the clear structure and understandable language. This facilitates implementation in the production and quality processes and minimises the legal risk from the outset.
