Beschreibung

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Cactoblastis cactorum, commonly known as the cactus moth, South American Cactus Moth, or nopal moth, is native to Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and southern Brazil. It is one of five species in the genus Cactoblastis that lives in South America. The native habitat of South America is home to many parasitoids and pathogens that control the growth of the moth; however, its introduction to Australia, the Caribbean, South Africa, and other areas has led to its uncontrolled spread and its classification as an invasive species.
