For more than a decade, international troops have been deployed to Afghanistan. Carolin Hilpert is a security and defence analyst for a medium-sized company in the defence sector, Germany. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Franklin College, Switzerland, and a Master's degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). She wrote her PhD at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich.
