Right Plant, Right Place

Autorentext

Beth Chatto has been the most influential British gardener of the last half-century. She started her garden at Elmstead Market in Essex in 1960 with her plant ecologist husband Andrew, experimenting by growing a huge variety of plants, and learning which plants thrived best in situations similar to their original natural environment. Beth became the leading commentator of plants from the early 1970s until her death in 2018. She published eight books during her lifetime.

The Beth Chatto Education Trust is now a charitable enterprise run by Beth’s granddaughter, Julia Boulton, with a team of 50 running educational workshops, the garden, and nursery production. The garden attracts more than 45,000 visitors from all over the world and is soon to expand with a new Dan Pearson woodland. It has a dedicated shop that sells Beth’s books and plants. www.bethchatto.co.uk
