This book constitutes the proceedings of the First International workshop on AI for Research, AI4Research 2024, and 4th International workshop on Democracy and AI, DemocrAI 2024, held in conjunction with the 33rd International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, IJCAI 2024, in Jeju, South Korea, in August 2024.
