Klappentext

A collaborative anthology centering women and genderqueer thinkers in Jewish thought.

This collaborative volume reimagines the Jewish intellectual tradition by asking what counts as Jewish thought and who counts as a Jewish thinker. It elevates the voices of women and genderqueer thinkers and presents thirty-one primary sources spanning centuries, continents, and genres. Alongside philosophical works, readers will encounter letters, poems, pamphlets, and visual art--each paired with commentaries from leading scholars in Jewish studies.
More than an introduction, Jewish Thinkers invites readers to reconsider how the canon of Jewish thought was constructed and whose voices and forms have been left at its margins. It highlights themes such as relationality and interdependence while expanding our understanding of where Jewish thought happens and the different formats it can take. The result is a richer, more expansive vision of the Jewish intellectual tradition.
