Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles and Other Wonders celebrates the extraordinary that is so often hiding in plain sight —true stories of unexpected grace, everyday magic, and moments that remind us life is bigger, kinder, and more mysterious than we realize.

Miracles happen every day to people from all walks of life. Divine intervention, amazing coincidences, insightful dreams, angels, messages from heaven, and answered prayers are found in these true stories from people who’ve experienced the unexplainable, including:

• Mary, a lonely widow, who obeyed a voice telling her to pray for her “future husband.” Three years later she married Mr. Right and learned he was in the ER the morning she prayed for him.
• Jami, who was comforted by a cleaning woman in the hospital every night for a month. When she was finally discharged, she tried to thank the woman and was told she didn’t exist. Then she saw her at the far end of the parking lot, complete with her mop, waving goodbye.
• Artie, whose father said he’d send a sign after he passed. After he died, the battery-operated Christmas candle that he loved lit up by itself even though it required multiple steps and a tool to turn it on.
• Sandy, who heard a voice telling her to “let go” when she was skidding right into the path of an 18-wheeler on an icy road. She took her hands off the wheel and her foot off the brake, and the car crossed the road by itself, missing the truck and a tree by inches.
• Patty, a college student who accepted a ride home from a stranger whose behavior then made her nervous. After he ran a red light he was pulled over by a police officer. She escaped. Decades later she saw the man’s mug shot because he’d kidnapped another girl back then, and then later kidnapped a young woman and held her prisoner for 18 years.
