The first day took place face-to-face at Istanbul Technical University, Türkiye, with participants and speakers attending in person, while the subsequent days were conducted virtually. The symposium centered on the overarching theme of AI-Driven Production with Green Sustainability. It was organized by the Society for Production Research, stanbul Technical University, Türkiye, and TU Wien, Austria. The symposium marks the ninth consecutive year of collaboration between the Society for Production Research, Istanbul, and TU Wien, Austria.
The generic theme of Industry 4.0 was first adopted at the 2016 symposium and maintained throughout the following eight events in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, each year incorporating updated perspectives on emerging developments and progress related to this theme.
This year, the conference comes together with the theme AI-Driven Production with Green Sustainability, emphasizing the transformative role of artificial intelligence in shaping environmentally responsible industrial systems. Within the framework of Industry 5.0, the integration of smart technologies enables more efficient, adaptive, and low-impact production processes. AI supports predictive analytics, optimized resource management, and real-time monitoring, all contributing to reduced emissions and waste. As we advance toward a circular economy, our collective efforts focus on innovations that align technological progress with ecological responsibility, driving sustainable growth across global value chains.
Contains selected papers from International Symposium for Production Research 2025 Provides results from research and practical solutions to real-world problems This year's papers emphasize the transformative role of AI in environmentally responsible industrial systems
