Advances in Electric Flight and Autonomous Systems

This book presents peerreviewed research from the International Symposium on Electric Aviation and Autonomous Systems (ISEAS 2025), bringing together current scholarship and applied perspectives on the electrification and intelligent transformation of aviation systems. The volume covers a broad range of interconnected topics, including electric and hybridelectric aircraft architectures, battery management systems and energy storage, hydrogen fuel cells, electric propulsion, onboard power generation and distribution, and the electrification of airport and ground support operations. It also looks at autonomous and unmanned aerial systems, highlighting how electrification and autonomy are jointly reshaping aircraft design, operations, and sustainability strategies. The chapters provide in-depth technical analyses, methodological advancements, and case discussions from keynote speeches and industry sessions. They show how emerging electric aviation technologies are integrated into aircraft, infrastructure, and operations, while addressing challenges in efficiency, safety, regulation, and implementation.

Advances in Electric Flight and Autonomous Systems serves as an important reference for researchers, graduate students, and professionals in aerospace and aeronautical engineering, electrical and power engineering, energy systems, and aviation technology management, as well as practitioners and policymakers focused on sustainable aviation, clean energy transitions, and the practical implementation of electric and autonomous aviation systems.

Brings together electric, hybridelectric, and autonomous aviation research Explores batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, propulsion, and infrastructure electrification in aviation Connects technical innovation with operational and sustainability challenges in electric flight
