On this basis, the key technologies for the slab surface defects control were proposed. The contents of the book included the control technology for the transverse corner crack of conventional and wide and thick slabs of micro-alloyed steel, the control technology for thin slab corner crack of micro-alloyed steel, the control technology for wide-face longitudinal off-corner depression of thick slab, as well as the control technology for hot charging crack of micro-alloyed steel slab. Zhaozhen Cai, Ph.D., mainly engages in the research of the theory of high-efficiency continuous casting. He presided over more than 30 projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the sub-projects of National Key Research and Development Plan and the "863" Program, and enterprise cooperation projects. He has published more than 40 papers, 1 academic monograph, and more than 20 authorized invention patents, also received 5 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.

Miaoyong Zhu is the winner of the National Fund for Outstanding Youth Science (2009), the Special Professor of Yangtze River Scholars of the Ministry of Education (2011), and the State has a prominent contribution to young and middle-aged experts enrolled in the national Million Talent Project (2013). Professor Zhu Miaoyong focus on in the research of high-quality steel smelting, high-efficiency continuous casting and metallurgical reaction engineering. Presided over national major equipment localization, national key research and development plan, national outstanding youth science fund, national natural science fund key and enterprise major cooperation projects. Published 8 academic monographs and translations, published 500 papers, won 1 national second prize for progress in science and 16 provincial ministerial awards for science and technology (7 first prize). The country 's first new engineering projects were hosted and implemented, with one national second prize for teaching results and three provincial and ministerial first prizes.
