Ontologies and Electronic Health Record related Standards

This paper contains multiple definitions (philosophical, informational and medical) for the ontology-model and the implementation in technology, concerning semantic interoperability and ontology languages.It gives two examples how ontologies could be implemented using the EN13606 Communication Standard and informs the reader about ontology based technologies like ontology mapping and ontology based eHealth applications.
