This book presents new ideas on poverty reduction and the reality of poverty in China, drawing from domestic and overseas experiences in poverty reduction. Based on theories and concepts from sociology, demography, law and management, it systematically presents strategies and safeguards for China's precision-targeted poverty reduction. This book is divided into three parts. The first part examines concepts and theories, while the second part addresses income, health, and rights. Lastly, the third part focuses on the governance, social engagement and regulatory safeguards for precision-targeted poverty reduction.

Sanxiu Wang, Ph.D., is a professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Wang's research specialties include poverty alleviation and social assistance. Wang has published extensively, including more than 80 journal articles.
