This book explores seriousness in practice in the unique sports context of contemporary women's flat track roller derby. Maddie Breeze is a Research Fellow in Sociology at the University of Edinburgh, UK. She is interested in gender sociology, feminist and post-structuralist theory, and qualitative research methods. She is currently investigating the emotional and relational aspects of young people's political engagement in post-referendum Scotland.
