Adrian was still getting settled into her routine of shuttling Courtney to school and getting to work on time. Andrew Cole, and more to the point his assistant Marie, had been more than patient with her as she juggled all of her new priorities.

She had immediately started the habit of packing her own lunch when she packed Courtney's and she hoped it would save her a noticeable amount of money. There was a large breakroom on her floor at work, and she was also hoping to meet a few people because the space was usually pretty crowded between 11:30 and 1:30.

Marie was very kind as she passed off the information she had regarding the upcoming foundation luncheon, as well as details about other past events. Adrian was grateful that Marie seemed to be on her side and did not feel a sense of competition with her. She had been worried when she first learned that Marie used to handle the events, but the older woman seemed happy to have the help.
