Biotechnological Innovations for Environmental Bioremediation

This edited book focuses on the application and implementation of bioremediation and other strategies to create a sustainable and healthy environment. It provides a collection of approaches to environmental biotechnology for wastewater treatment, removal of soil heavy metals, degradation of pesticides, removal of dyes, waste management, and microbial conversion of environmental pollutants. Dr. Sudipti Arora, is an Environmental Research Scientist at Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, Jaipur, and has specialization in wastewater treatment by vermifiltration technology and nature-based sanitation solutions. She is also the founder director of "Prakrit Sustainable Integrated Foundation"- NGO working on Environmental Sustainable Solutions. She is also involved in various Indo-European and Indo- UK research projects. She is a guest editor of the journal Water, special issue Pathogen Detection and Identification in Wastewater. She has been honoured by various awards including Research Excellence Award 2020 by Institute of Scholars for outstanding research work on vermifiltration technology; Dainik Bhaskar "Green Parrot Award" in 2018 for her contribution in Indigenous water treatment.

Dr Ashwani Kumar Alexander von Humboldt Fellow (Germany), MSc (Botany) (Gold Medalist) (1967)), PhD (1971), post doc AvH Fellow (Germany) and JSPS fellow (Japan) Selected in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS: IPS) (1972) but he opted career in botany. 37 years of teaching & research experience. Guided 39 PhD. research students and published 320 research papers and 26 books. Elected fellow FBS, FPSI, FIMPS and FIFS. Editor in Chief IJLS. V. Puri medal (2008) CEE award (2015). President of CHEC (India), Indian Botanical Society, Society for Promotion of Plant Sciences. Professor Emeritus, Department of University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Presently, Chair Professor at JVWU, Jaipur and Adj. Professor Modi University, Sikar.

Shinjiro Ogita, has over two decades of experience in the field of plant biotechnology. He is an expert in the field of cell and tissue culture and transformation technologies for higher plants. He has also worked at the Laboratory of Cell Manipulation, Division of Bio-resources Technology, Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. He presently works as a Dean and a full professor at Faculty of Bioresource Sciences, Department of Local Resources,, Prefectural University of Hiroshima (PUH), Japan.

Yuan- Yeu Yau, is an expert in the areas of plant biotechnology, plant breeding, plant biochemistry and plant physiology. He has worked on projects with grants from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, USDA, Cotton Incorporated, California Fresh Carrot Advisory Board and North eastern State University. He has authored and co-authored important discoveries in several Science Citation Index (SCI) and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) journals. He also serves as a reviewer in various international scientific journals and book proposals. He is also an editor of several Springer-Nature scientific books. He mentors numerous students from all over the world on ResearchGate.
