Fatima Roumate is the President and Founder of the International Institute of Scientific Research (Morocco) and a Full Professor of International Economic Law and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Law, Economic and Social Sciences Agdal, Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco. She is a member of the AI for Good Impact Initiative Steering Committee (ITU), the Information Ethics Working Group of IFAP (UNESCO), and the Ad Hoc Expert Group for the Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (UNESCO, Morocco). Roumate is also the founder of the Global Network on AI and International Society (GNAI&IS) and is widely recognized as a global expert on artificial intelligence and international psychological security. Dr. Roumate is a leading Moroccan academic known for her expertise in international law, technological sovereignty, AI ethics, and digital diplomacy. She has published extensively in Arabic, French, and English on subjects such as technological challenges, AI in higher education, and digital diplomacy. Her edited book on artificial intelligence and digital diplomacy was ranked among the top 20 best books globally by Book Authority. She has been a keynote speaker at numerous international events, including a session at the House of State in Finland. Among her many accolades are a Doctor Honoris Causa from the University UNIFE in Peru, the International Evgeny Kuzmin Award at the IT Forum in 2024, and the "Iconic Leaders Creating a Better World" award at the Women Economic Forum in 2017 in The Hague. In 2023, she was named one of the Top 20 Inspirational Women of the African Diaspora. Through her leadership at the IISR and her active role in various international committees and working groups, Fatima Roumate continues to shape the discourse around AI and law, focusing especially on ethical implications and international security. She is also deeply committed to women's empowerment and entrepreneurship, regularly conducting training sessions and workshops to support these causes.
