Guilherme Malafaia is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Goiano Federal Institute - Urutaí Campus (Goiás, Brazil), where he also coordinates the Laboratory of Toxicology Applied to the Environment. With a strong academic background-including a Ph.D. in Agrarian Sciences and eight postdoctoral fellowships in Environmental Sciences-and more than 350 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Malafaia is a leading expert in aquatic ecotoxicology, specializing in the environmental impact of legacy pollutants and emerging contaminants.His research focuses on the ecotoxicity of nanomaterials, micro- and nanoplastics, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products in aquatic ecosystems. His work integrates diverse biological models, from plants to animals, to assess environmental risks and pollutant behavior.
