This book is a compilation of the best papers presented at the 2024 edition of the Singapore Conference of Applied Psychology (SCAP) and the Malaysia Conference on Applied Psychology (MCAP), led by East Asia Research in Singapore in collaboration with the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Charles Sturt University in Australia, and Monash University Malaysia. Chapters include research conducted by experts in the field of applied psychology from the Asia-Pacific region and cover areas such as the latest innovations, trends, concerns, practical challenges encountered, and the solutions adopted in the field of applied psychology such as community and environmental psychology, psychotherapy and counseling, health, child and school psychology, and gender studies. The book will be of interest to educators, psychology researchers, and practicing counselors.

Dr. Brian Moore is a researcher at the University of Wollongong and Charles Sturt University whose work promotes mental health and wellbeing. With a professional background as a registered psychologist and educator, Dr. Moore has significant experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. Dr. Moore gained a bachelor of arts from The University of Sydney, has multiple postgraduate qualifications in education and psychology, and was awarded a doctor of philosophy by Macquarie University. Dr. Moore's most recent work examines using cooperative electronic gaming to improve conflict related to school-based bullying and considers attitudes to teachers supporting student mental health. Dr. Moore serves as a special advisory group member for UNESCO regarding youth development and engagement, and he serves on various advisory and professional committees for the Australia and New Zealand Mental Health Association, International Academic Forum, and the School Counselor and Psychologists Association NSW.

Dr. Elizabeth Murray is an associate professor in the School of Education. Dr. Murray has taught with Charles Sturt University since 2008. Prior to this, she completed her bachelor of education (Early Childhood) and doctor of philosophy degrees through Charles Sturt and taught in primary schools in New South Wales. Dr. Murray is a program lead for the Collaborative Teacher's Aide Pathway and Grow Your Own Teacher Training Program and has taught a range of subjects both on campus and online to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Murray is interested in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and, in particular, working with children to examine issues of concern for them. More recently, her focus has included the transition to tertiary education for Teachers' Aides/SLSOs/AEOs retraining to become teachers and understanding their study challenges and opportunities.

Matt Winslade is the associate dean, Research for the Faculty of Arts and Education. Matt has a strong educational background with thirty years of teaching experience in the HPE and WIL field. Prior to moving into the tertiary sector, he was both a head teacher in the state system and a director of Sport in the Association of Independent schools. Matt has been awarded an Australian Council of Deans of Education award through the Australian Association for Research in Education and has received a citation for outstanding contribution to student learning. Matt's doctoral research examined the changing nature of Health and Physical Education in Australian schools. His current research activities include evaluating school-university partnerships and international school-based health and physical activity programs. Matt also has a strong interest in exploring the development of inter-cultural competency in pre-service teachers and has created multiple international outreach programs to support this interest.

Mr. Lee-Ming Tan is the founder of East Asia Research, and he obtained his master of applied finance from the University of Adelaide. He is deeply interested in how humans function and react with each other. An insight into how people's minds think and how they work together is invaluable in just about every field. Outside of work, Anthony Tan enjoys outdoor activities and occasional computer games.
