This topical brief summarizes the various options available for carbon capture and presents the current strategies involved in CO2 reduction. The authors focus on current CO2 capture technologies that facilitate the reduction of greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions and reduce global warming. This short study will interest environmental researchers, teachers and students who have an interest in global warming.

Bin Gao is an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) at the University of Florida (UF). Before he joined the UF faculty, Bin was a research associate at Cornell University and a postdoctoral research associate at Yale University. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering at Cornell University. His B.S. (Chemistry) and M.S. (Environmental Chemistry) degrees were received from Nanjing University in China. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award (2011).
