Professor Tanay Sidki Uyar received his PhD from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Yildiz Technical University in 1990. He worked as a senior research scientist for the TUBITAK Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, before becoming an Assistant Professor at Kocaeli University in 1994. He held a number of teaching and research positions, and is now a Professor of Renewable Energy at Marmara University.Professor Uyar is a member of multiple different professional organisations. He is a founding member of the Turkish Wind Energy Association and of the Turkish section of the International Solar Energy Society.
