Statistical methods are a major obstacle to understanding for potential users, not just because some of these methods are considerably complex, but also because users frequently lack sufficient basic knowledge. The second corrected edition of this textbook takes this situation into account and provides an in-depth but also very clearly written introduction to the methodological mathematical principles of the subject of statistics.
