The third text volume in the historical-critical edition of Wieland's Shakespeare translations presents three very different plays together with the originals from Warburton's Works of Shakespeare, on which they were based. The Kauffmann von Venedig (Merchant of Venice) is followed by Timon von Athen eine Rachetragödie (Timon of Athens). The volume ends with the historical drama Leben und Tod des Königs Johann (The Life and Death of King John).
