The third text volume in the historical-critical edition of Wieland's Shakespeare translations presents three very different plays together with the originals from Warburton's Works of Shakespeare , on which they were based. The Kauffmann von Venedig ( Merchant of Venice ) is followed by Timon von Athen eine Rachetragödie ( Timon of Athens ). The volume ends with the historical drama Leben und Tod des Königs Johann ( The Life and Death of King John ).
