This study examines the connections between vernacular and Latin fables and proverbs in the late Middle Ages. It investigates a Latin commentary on the fables of the Anonymus Neveleti that includes German rhyming couplet epimythia , and was disseminated in scholastic circles. The text is made accessible for the first time in a published edition.
