We think of immigration as prototypical of our globalizing world, but migratory movement has long characterized human history. For the first time, this study seeks to examine the migrations that occurred during the medieval millennium. The volume will become an indispensable reference work for all who are interested in the Middle Ages from the perspective of the world at large.
