This volume publishes all of the manuscripts and papers written by Marx and Engels on "German Ideology." This edition, which compiles 17 manuscripts and 2 papers, differs significantly from earlier publications in that it no longer attempts to complete the unfinished texts in order to reconstruct a single "work." Instead, it documents for the first time all textual sources in their authentic state.
